Responsibilities:  

This new Dryden Cross & Co., Inc. client is a growing investment bank specializing in the retail space with verticals in luxury goods, specialty retail, broadlines, hardlines, restaurants, gaming and lodging, grocery, apparel, cosmetics, footwear, media, packaged goods, etc. The analyst will work on the desk with the Senior Analyst to build financial and operational models of restaurant, luxury goods, or packaged goods companies under coverage, and work to launch coverage of further companies to expand desk coverage. The firm takes a rigorous and disciplined approach to research and the junior analyst must have not only a solid grasp of equity research skills including financial statement analysis, modeling and market analysis, but also be able to incorporate on-the-ground research such as channel checking as well as information gained in one-on-one conversations with corporate senior management. Research methodology and due diligence will include (but are not limited to): financial modeling for revenues, expenses, and free cash flows as well as analyzing business trends and the competitive regulatory environments, and conversations with corporate executives and industry insiders.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have 4 – 5 years of equity research experience as well as investment bank training. Specific retail industry expertise is not essential, but exposure to the luxury goods, packaged goods and restaurant and retail industries will be a plus. A passion for the retail industry is essential. Strong financial background and an understanding of accounting, finance, and economic principles are essential as well.

 

Compensation:  

Base compensation 100 to 110K plus significant bonus potential.
