Equity Research Senior Associate, Natural Resources, New York City
Responsibilities:
New members of this equity research team will be part of a strongly expanding investment bank specializing in the natural resources space. The new senior associate will join the institutional sell-side team and must have a strong affinity for natural resources. The senior associate will be responsible for performing market analysis and financiel modling of the sector companies under coverage as well as institutional client interaction. The senior associate will build models for debt, equity, and liquidity analysis and calculate DCF values, NPV, and ROI. The associate will also support the team and help manage database information, etc., in addition to participating in client presentations and briefings. The team’s ultimate goal is to build both the client base as well as increase the companies under coverage.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an MBA and/or CFA plus a minimum of 3 years of equity research experience from either the buy- or sell-side. Though specific industry experience is not essential, exposure to one or more of the following sectors will be a strong plus: Metals and Mining, Agriculture, Chemicals, Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, Electric Utilities, Surface Transportation, Seaborne Transportation and Infrastructures Development. The position requires an undergradutate degree (finance, accounting, or economics are most on-target) from a top tier university. Comprehensive understanding of accounting, finance, and economic principles is essential.
Compensation: base compensation to $150K, commensurate with experience, plus bonus
